WHAT TO USE THESE BAMBOO FOR?
Use these non-treated bamboo for cooking lemang, ayam bambu, ayam pansuh, rice or many other traditional ethnic recipes.
A traditional food known in Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei, lemang is glutinous rice cooked in coconut milk and salt, lined with banana leaves inside these bamboo sticks over a woodfire. Lemang is then served with rendang or curry.
Lemang is also a notable dish served during special occasions like Eid-ul-Fitr and Eid-ul-Adha among these Southeast Asian Muslim communities.

In the Philippines, the thinner bamboo sticks are used to make puto bumbong.
There are also other Southeast Asian dishes that use the bamboo, such as Ayam Pansuh.
