Purple Mangosteens. Garcinia mangostana. Enjoy fresh, incredibly sweet and juicy purple mangosteens from the Daintree region (north of Cairns) or Innisfail/Tully region (south of Cairns) in Far North Queensland. Pair these Queen of Fruit with the King of Fruits.

TTFC will only buy market fresh mangosteens that have been delivered direct from Far North Queensland (delivered by road freight 2-3 days after fruit picking). Stems will still be green, and its rind should usually yield to the touch.

Available by size grading. “Cherry” size is the small juicy size. “Queen” is the larger sized mangosteen. "No 2" mangosteens can be of various sizes - cherry or queen - but skin has blemishes, wind damage or insect scars. This does not affect the fruit quality and taste. Merely cosmetic.

All fruit sizes vary based on the season availability.

• 1kg cherry sized or No 2 mangosteens are approx 8-12pcs of fruit
• 10kg bulk box cherry or No 2 mangosteens can vary approx 80-100pcs of fruit
• 1kg queen size can be 5-8pcs
• 3kg tray of the queen size mangosteens will have approximately 18-36 pieces of fruit weighing between 80-220g per mangosteen.

⚠️STORAGE INSTRUCTIONS
Never store whole fruit mangosteens in the fridge. This will cause the fruit to go hard and become inedible. Mangosteens must be kept at room temperature at all times.

If the skin colour is a little reddish, it is mature and lightly ripened with sour-sweet flavour. It can continue to darken to a dark purple colour and will be a bit sweeter.

If you wish to store longer, you can choose to peel the skin and store the white pulp flesh in a container in the fridge (last 2-3 weeks and may oxidise), or freezer (may have freezer burn, but will last 1-3 months).
