With its native origins from Brazil, Paraguay and Argentina, the passionfruit vine is now widely cultivated in subtropical and tropical regions around the world including Australia.

The available passionfruit types grown commercially from Queensland that are selected for sale by The Thorny Fruit Co this winter:

• Flamenco are an excellent sweet, extremely juicy variety this Winter. A variety from the purple passionfruit Passiflora edulis, they’re known for its round dark purple, thin skin and orange pulp.

• Panamas are large with a reddish or yellowish shell of the Passiflora flavicarpa species. On the inside holding the pulp is a thicker white flesh, and its seedy pulp has a more zingy, sourish flavour.

1kg approximately will have about 5-8pcs of fruit depending on size.
